Or both - Its hard to say because I first really liked The Rolling Stones when I was a kid and then there was that whole 15 year old Dire Straits thing - but the first alternative and I ever went for was The Cure, the album was Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me.

A friend at school gave me a tape of the album and I was taken in a whole new musical direction from the blues based FM Rock I was brought up on.
Whimsical, emotional (yet without the emo) and thoroughly loveable.

It was the first CD I ever bought when I got a CD player about 1990. The CD itself was a small dissapointment becasue one of the best songs on the album, Hey You was dropped to fit on those primitive first generation CDs.

This deluxe edition of the album has just been released on CD and once again a friend has lent me a copy. Its been wonderfully remastered and huzzah, Hey You is on the album!
